The location was great, being not all that far from where we was wanting to drive, but always left both of us with the feeling like we were the only ones around!
We have taken all the features of our luxurious one bedroom luxury cabin and made it twice as good by building out the lower level. The finishes are all high end white quartz counter tops, marble, stacked rock fireplace and mosaic tile. There is one bedroom located on each of the three levels of the cabin and each bedroom features its own charming and quaint cabin theme. In addition to the fire pit, you can enjoy other outdoor activities such as a tire swing, picnic area, corn hole and horse shoe pit.
The kitchen is designed with custume cabinets, granite with backsplash, granite kichen dinette, and plenty of natural light with gabled lighting in this amazing kitchen concept.
There is a cat bird seat that sits atop of the cabin with seating with a view for hundreds of miles off in the distance. Lodge has a great buffet restaurant and runs a program of daily year-round activities for all ages. There is also a hot tub and don’t forget the pool table in between all the other activities. Enjoy a peaceful walk along the trail in back or just relax indoors in an amazing heated spa-bath.
A trail takes you to the creek in back where you can enjoy a picnic at the base of the falls. The moment you walk through the door, you will be enveloped by warm and inviting rustic furnishing and accessories. Beautiful mountain or lake front views provide the perfect backdrop to enjoy time with your friends and family. We will definitely be back, and booking through anyone other than cedar creek cabin rentals. And if you’re just looking to relax indoors or the weather doesn’t suit your mood, there are plenty of options to dine out.
The cabin has wide open spaces and huge windows that make you feel at one with the forest.
The entire first night we spent there the cabin was in the lower-mid 50s, which made it hard to enjoy the first evening.
The cabin was spotlessly clean and very well set out and had absolutely everything you could need to cook, clean and look after yourself. Can’t say enough greatness about the wolf preserve, everyone should go and learn the truth.
The cabin was built in the 1960’s (funky kitchen linoleum and mustard low pile carpet – awesome). I wanted a few nights to relax in the woods away from the city for his birthday, and this place definitely hit the spot.
It was perfect to get some seclusion with my partner, but we definitely are sharing this secret spot with our friends next time. The owners of master house were incredibly friendly and showed us around when we got there even though they were leaving to go out of town within a few hours. Eagle has a wonderful town park that hosts many fun events through the year such as weekly concerts and yoga.
We had a great time chatting with them, and getting to know them, and they’re adorable pets. Ouray, which provides additional restaurants, another natural hot springs and access to several beautiful hikes and rock/ice climbing.
Cabin enjoy view
The quality of the caboose building is also high- very well made, it seems, and tastefully done. We had fun nerding out over the solar power system, which worked flawlessly, and it was no trouble to flick a wall switch to start the generator when our late-night boardgames required some extra juice to keep the lights on. We also have a cozy little sitting area where you can peacefully enjoy the tranquility of the mountain stream. With ski equipment, the walk could be a little challenging and despite the free bus, it would be some work. Bryan provide a great guide to the town and were readily available to help me out with questions through my stay. It may feel a bit cramped with more than two adults, but would be fine for 2 adults and kids. Nederland (13 miles) – a unique mountain town with a variety of restaurants, coffee houses, shops and live music venues, as well as a great visitor center and mining museum right in the heart of town. We really appreciated the time she took to help make sure we were prepared for our weekend at 9,500 ft.
In the evenings, gather around the dining or coffee table for a night of fun with provided board games after you have whipped up your favorite meal in the fully-equipped kitchen. Yes you will see a big beautiful bathtub in the pictures, but unfortunately our water supply and drainage does not support the use of it = sorry strictly no baths, great hot showers only!
Netflix, and wi-fi which run a bit slow at times but generally is pretty good for mountain service. Once you get here though, you don’t really want to get back in the car if you don’t have to. The front area outside the cabin is secluded, just lovely and peaceful to spend time there. It is very rural and allows you to escape for a weekend and enjoy the beautiful countryside. We live in a very quiet neighborhood, mostly retired folks and the rest are like us with older kids. The loft has a cozy wrap around bean bag couch, one full bed and ample lighting to cozy in at night.
Guests can access the bathroom and shower through the back door of the main house (just 5 feet away). The balcony was wonderful to sit and watch the birds and squirrels – hours of entertainment!
Another unique feature of this cabin is the tree in the living room with a couple of bear cubs climbing toward the ceiling! The cabin features a large game room with a pool table, foosball table, air hockey table and a card table!
So very nicely maintained and the final straw was just how very clean the cabin was when we came here!
There is also a large dining area and we have moved the pool table down to the lower level. Just off the kitchen, located on the balcony, there is a gas grill for outdoor barbequing and entertaining with an abundance of seating for all guests.
Stroll out back and enjoy the recently added, tailor-made stone walkways down to the fire pit that bring the almost two-acre property entrance and outdoor areas together with serene and natural mountain foliage.
You can also enjoy a glass of wine in the relaxing ambiance of the 6-person hot tub or cuddle up in a wicker seat and read a good book. Newly updated with kitchen, bath, floors and the view was pruned out to have the most amazing view in the county.

For this mountain playground, we can coordinate a package to include zip-lining, bike or kayak rentals, lift tickets and equipment. The cabin sits by itself, isolated from the lights and chaos of the city life as well as many of the neighbors.
If we had known, we would have made sure to arrive earlier in the day so we had more time to heat up the cabin. The property is a little run down and needs new beds, better cleaning, and a mirror someplace other than the little one in the bathroom, other than that it was awesome.
The beds in the far room are bunk beds and we have put the bunk beds together in the main room for a double.
Kitchen with propane range and oven is ready to go – just bring you food, cooler and your water. I laid out a sleeping bag on the futon bed and left the windows open at night so you can hear the sounds of the woods.
The only neighbor we found was a few minutes walk away, too far to hear or see from the cabin. Food and night life is just a short walk away, and if your into the outdoors you’ll find the cabin to be a center hub to a myriad of hiking, fishing, skiing and the list goes on. We could have used more bankets as was suggested by the host, however with a 7 month old in the pack n’play that wasn’t a solution for him. Wide open starry skies, the lulling sounds of aspen trees in the wind, and views of majestic mountains are only a few of the restorative aspects of this off-the-grid cabin retreat. Our dogs loved having other puppies to run around with on the huge, secluded property with breathtaking views.
I might stumble across a little spot of magic–a space that provides a uniquely intimate experience of a new place, and also reflects the individuality of the owner. The second bed is a futon in the living room/dining room space that folds out into a queen size sleeping pad. Due to the incredible acoustics of the valley, the entire town could step outside and listen to his concerts.
For our family, the space worked but if our kids were older, it might be challenging with one pull out bed. The apartment was clean, great atmosphere and the loft was adorable with exposed beams and all!
During the winter, parking is at the main cabin and guests need to snow shoe or ski in the remaining 100 yards.
Joleen sent us very thorough directions and instructions on where to find the cabin and what we would find inside.
And be sure to take time to check out “the bench” with the awesome view (just don’t try to locate it at night; even with my headlamp the markers are kinda hard to follow). The little cabin is still a bit rustic, but is quite cozy as it is and has a lot of character. The cabin stays warm with the beautiful propane fireplace and we’ve found for safety sake we will no longer permit wood fires.
We have had only one storm in the last 4 years that we couldn’t get our 2wd car over the last hill and had to walk the last bit. Bucksnort is a big destination location and the area gets many visitors over the weekends.
Nestled in the mountains with a creek that was very much like a river due to all of the rainfall, this cabin was the idyllic place to retreat from the hussle of city life and reconnect with nature.
Colorado sunshine, 8 solar panels have been installed on the roof, and on the rare occasions of rain or snow this unit has enough stored battery power to last 2-3 days.
She was quick to respond to us, and offered great suggestions of things to do in the area. The view out the front window is very relaxing anytime but with a cup of coffee in the morning it is superb. The roads leading to it leave a tad to be desired, but are very manageable and just adds to the wonderful sense of being off the beaten track. We had a blast snowshoeing, playing with the dogs and enjoying the solitude of the location.
