Gruene Mansion Inn New Braunfels, Tx, United StatesNice Spot To Relax.
“We thought we would be staying in an old large house but it is actually a series of like buildings on the river.”
It does not matter if you are staying in the main house or any of the other 28 room styles you will LOVE it here. It is absolutely the most romantic place in town.
We stayed in "Sunday Haus #16" said to be perfect for couples. It was a beautiful two story place with vintage furnishings including a king size four poster bed in the upstairs loft, a claw foot rub, a dainty day bed and fireplace, and private balcony.
Definitely a place you must stay at when visiting Gruene or the New Braunfels area.
I adore the Gruene Mansion Inn. The sheer convenience factor of having a quaint little B&B right next to a weekend getaway's worth of  dining, entertainment and shopping makes the GMI a winner in my book. It's romantic, overlooks the Guadalupe River and has super adorable that are primo for relaxation.
They have recently updated some of the rooms - New quilts, spectacular hardware (a bulls head towel holder from Dot and Bo!), and some fresh paint over some otherwise drab forest green/floral wallpaper. A great step in the right direction.
Couple of items for improvement which could really knock this 4 Star review to be a legit 5 Star review contender would be: a functioning AC unit (thankfully we were in town during cooler weather) and more readily available wifi. Other challenges: Two night minimum stay on the weekends and sometimes parking can be a challenge.
Solid #ProTip: If you don't wanna pay cover for the artist playing at Gruene Hall (or mayb the show is sold out), stake out a on the GMI patio near their main offices and you'll have a decent opportunity to catch the live music from about 75' from the main stage.
My lovely, sweet and adorable husband recently surprised me for our anniversary with a trip to Gruene and a stay at the Gruene Mansion Inn. It was just sigh worthy, in the best way possible. We had great privacy in a room overlooking the river, and barely heard a noise from the outside world when in the room. The decor was cozy and the claw foot tub was just beautiful and relaxing at the end of a busy shopping day. We were in great walking distance if every shop and antique store and so close between Restaurants that when we went to dinner it was literally steps away from our cabin.
The bed was so high I needed a step stool to get on it and it was a bit creaky and not as firm as I like, which is the only slight drawback for me. The room was so comfortable overall that it didn't matter much. The breakfast in the morning was delicious, too, with fresh eggs, quiche and fruit.
